Holiday Attractions & Nightime Events in NYC

Last week my dear friend invited me to a Christmas pageant held in a church off Broadway near Times Square. The talent was amazing, the Christmas messages poignant and the energy was of a high order.

Afterwards, even though it was really cold I decided to walk home passing Rockefeller Center with the famous Christmas tree. It was cold and late but the streets were filled with happy faces of families enjoying the sights.

A few nights later I went to Alice Tully Hall for my annual favorite concert of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center www.chambermusicsociety.org playing all six of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. The music was played with such joy, pleasure and expertise that it transported me to higher realms.

We had an inexpensive dinner at the Lincoln Center branch of a favorite coffee house/bakery, Le Pain Quotidien www.lepainquotidien.com. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

This is some of what I saw.
