Category Archives: Private Practice Notes

Here is where we talk about the nitty gritty of day after day being in a room with a client in person, on the phone, or just doing the proxy work, in the absence of other practitioners with whom we can interact.
Here we can talk about how to nurture ourselves and stay connected to our best selves and peers while in the service of others.

More Thoughts on “Longing For The Divine”

In several previous posts I have referred to Mark Silver’s truly amazing work that is accessed through his website www.heart of business.com.

In particular I have talked a little about The Remembrance that I learned from his free download Getting To The Core of Your Business. I have been consistently using The Remembrance not only as special quiet time with God, as a grounding and centering technique and  also as a running background to whatever I am doing.

Whenever I am walking through my favorite Central Park, I am connecting with nature, and I am feeling centered in my heart as I say God’s name.

This week I realized that my most special times on my walks involve my experience of  the quiet that enfolds me in the middle of the park when the blanket of snow muffles the city sounds. In the silence I call God’s name from my heart.

Calling God’s name from the center of my heart has been a deeply personal and profound experience for me right from the first time I practiced  in November.

One of my strongest reactions has consistently been feeling an emptiness and profound sadness deep in my heart. I have remained present throughout this time and in the past two days I experienced a profound shift.

But first  I need to tell you that I am far from depressed. I am enjoying my life and excited to greet each new day. The emptiness has not felt particularly related to my everyday life.

Yesterday I participated in a free teleconference call that Mark offered as an introduction to his The Sacred Moment Seminar, which will be held in Portland Oregon, February 25th and 26th, 2011.

The context of what he discussed was in terms of the spiritual elements that are the real core of making a sale with another person- in our practice- getting and keeping paying clients.  Mark spoke awhile about neediness being ” the most powerful tool, a doorway to abundance and to connection” necessary for  transactions to occur.

When he said ” the neediness that we are so ashamed of- the hollowness, is the the flute that is ready to be played” by the Divine, I started getting excited. He continued,  urging that we become “comfortable with the discomfort of the emptiness” and that we bring the thirst and need to the Divine.. that we can then “feel the sense of connection with Divine fullness from the heart”.

Mark encouraged us to “feel the raw ache and gnawing in your heart… allowing the heart thirst  to propel  you towards the Source…” He advised us to always have the thirst, that “connecting deeply with the neediness” so we can then “see the gifts”.

I believe that this is a visceral description of  the spirit level need of “Longing for the Divine” that Joie asked about in the Resonance Repatterning Q& A’s last week. I was relieved and excited to realize that I have been on the right track using The Remembrance so consistently.

When I took my walk today I asked God to fill my empty heart with Divine Love. Later, when I began a session with one of my regularly scheduled clients something extraordinary happened.

I literally felt a zing go through my heart as I was energetically and verbally creating our sacred space in the usual manner. I felt my heart open so wide and so deep that it felt like my heart was smiling from edge to edge!

I still feel the fullness that began almost twelve hours ago!

I strongly recommend clicking here so you can read the material Mark presents before listening to what I heard yesterday. Click here to nurture your heart and your business and grow your longing for The Divine.

How I Nurture Myself in Transition from the Old into the New Year

On my first senior December 30th birthday my aunt’s email to me said “You are one of the first BB’s [Baby Boomers] to reach this milestone–but, then again, you always were a trailblazer.”

Being the person I am and having a New Year’s Eve Eve birthday has caused me to approach the end of the year and the beginning of the new one in a way that I consistently find most satisfying to me.

I save my very favorite holiday attraction, viewing The Stars at the Time Warner Center, for last. What I love about this color, sound and light show is the fine quality of the holiday music played, the healing intensity of the clear colors and how the play of color, light and sound are intrinsically uplifting, exciting and peaceful.

That’s where I often go on the next to the last day of the year. I also choose, if I’m lucky, a great movie and have a satisfying meal out with loved ones. (This year we saw The King’s Speech, www.kingsspeech.com which I found to be an extremely fine movie- a real treat from beginning to end.)

On the last day of the year I continue to celebrate- often by having lunch with friends. Petaluma, www.petalumarestaurant.com , has good food, reasonable prices, good service and it is very close to my home.

This would be a great place for my students to go to relax after a day in class. This is how the restaurant looked as they prepared it for their New Year’s Eve celebration.

On the first day or two of the New Year I take care of myself and my practice in the following ways: I do a Repatterning for myself to make sure that I am resonating with my new resolutions; In a Repatterning I clear any remnants of lingering issues or discomforts from the previous year; I organize my business and personal record keeping; I maximize the positive potential of my resolutions by including them in the Group Repatterning that we usually do for the January Group.

Having done most of that, this year I have added something new that I hope you might want to do as well. I added a new Intention for other people to help me manifest by their looking at the Love From NYC page of this blog.

To add your own Intentions, just go to the top of the blog where the tab says Love From NYC and instead of commenting on my Intentions, or the Intentions of other persons, just add your Intention as a comment for all of us to help energize.

As more people use the page, I hope that we all will report on our successes in manifesting those intentions.

Finally, here is one of the songs played Under The Stars at the Time Warner Center.(On December 17th, 2010 I posted pictures of  Dizzie’s Club- which is part of Jazz at Lincoln Center housed on the fifth floor of The Time Warner Center.)

I hope that you enjoy this show, which I found on U-Tube. In person I find it to be a very powerful healing modality.  Maybe next year you’ll come to see it for yourself!

The Full Moon Eclipse for Those Who Are Spiritually Inclined

For those of you who are spiritually inclined, I would like to share the clear, committed work of Patricia Cota-Robles and her website www.eraofpeace.com.

Please note that what I am presenting here is independent of the Resonance Repatterning® system. My personal eclectic spirituality is reflected here and hopefully in every aspect of my life, for it is the ultimate fuel that nourishes my private practice and my being.

On the internet there are so many voices. There are sites of healers, of people receiving through their channeling messages about our planet’s evolution, there are the messages of lightworkers, scholars, astrologers, to mention a tiny few of the multitude.

I have not always had positive effects from visiting some websites so I do not have repeat visits to many sites.

One woman whose voice I trust is Patricia Cota-Robles. She gives free seminars about personal and planetary transformation throughout the USA. She is always attuned to events that are energetically significant for the positive transformation of humanity and our planet.

Although her language is very different from words I use to describe spiritually transformative information, her energy and truth feel clean and correct to me. I have used some of her tapes and had wonderful experiences that I will share at another time.

Here is part of the e-mail I received from her prior to the eclipse.

“December 21, 2010 – A POWERFUL OPPORTUNITY!
By Patricia Diane Cota-Robles

“We are in the midst of an incredible influx of Light. …. tonight we will experience not only the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, but also a very rare Full Moon Lunar Eclipse. This eclipse takes place within 2 degrees of the Galactic Center which will open a mighty portal from the Core of Creation. The Light of God will flow through this portal and initiate pivotal changes that will affect all Life evolving on this planet….

According to the Company of Heaven, it is impossible to overestimate the potential for positive change that Humanity will co-create by taking advantage of this Cosmic Moment.

…. The Light of God that will flow to Earth through this newly opened portal will build in momentum until the New Moon Solar Eclipse on January 4, 2011. This will catapult the Earth and ALL her Life up the Spiral of Evolution and pave the way for a God Victorious 2011. Fasten your seatbelts, you are in for the ride of your life! 2011 is going to be a year of monumental change and rebirth.”

This is a meditation that Patricia produced for the occasion. I sunk into my being and I watched it before I went out to see the event. I hope that you enjoy it too.

Even though this is a “past” event now, according to Lynne McTaggert, author of The Field, and The Intention Experiment, http://www.theintentionexperiment.com/, energetically there is no past, present and future so that a person can retro-intend and be energetically a part of what has already occurred.
